How Do Repairs and Planned Maintenance Differ?

How Can We Help with Electrical Faults?

For a loss of power, repeated tripping or an intermittent fault, tell us what is affected and when it happens. We investigate the cause, explain the findings and agree the repair. Attendance is confirmed before booking.

What Does Electrical PPM Involve?

Planned preventative maintenance means scheduling agreed electrical checks and maintenance before a breakdown occurs. For businesses and managed premises, we agree the equipment, tasks, frequency and access arrangements around the installation and how you use the building.

How Do We Plan Work around Your Business?

Tell us about production, opening hours, sensitive equipment and restricted areas. We discuss isolation and disruption before starting and agree how the work will be coordinated.

Which Records Should You Keep?

We explain what was checked or repaired, any outstanding findings and the recommended follow-up. We inspect and test our work and provide the relevant records and electrical certification.

What Should You Send with Your Enquiry?

Describe what is happening, which equipment or areas are affected and when the issue started. For planned maintenance, tell us about your premises and existing arrangements.

Which Industry Standards Do We Work to?

We help you plan inspections, maintain clear records and act on practical recommendations, so you can prioritise work and budget for your premises.

How Do We Use SFG20 Maintenance Schedules?

We are familiar with SFG20 planned maintenance schedules and can work to the relevant electrical tasks within your agreed maintenance programme.

How Does BS 7671 Apply to the Work?

We work to BS 7671 for electrical installations, inspection and testing, with clear reports and the relevant records for the work completed.

How Does BS 5266-1 Apply to Emergency Lighting?

We work to BS 5266-1 for emergency lighting where applicable, supporting planned inspections, clear test records and practical recommendations for follow-up work.

What Else Should You Know before Booking?

Can You Investigate an Intermittent Fault?

Yes. Tell us when the problem happens, what equipment is running and any work already carried out. This helps us investigate the cause of a recurring issue.

Do You Offer Ongoing Maintenance?

We can discuss planned electrical maintenance and repeat support for your premises. The equipment, scope and schedule are agreed around your requirements.

What Information Should I Send?

Describe the symptoms, the affected areas and any recent changes. Photos and equipment details are useful. You don’t need to diagnose the fault yourself.

Do You Provide Reactive Electrical Maintenance?

We can investigate electrical breakdowns and faults as reactive maintenance, subject to availability and agreed attendance. Tell us what has stopped working, which areas are affected and any access restrictions. Ongoing support arrangements are agreed separately.

Can You Investigate a Fuse Box or RCD That Keeps Tripping?

Yes. Repeated tripping can have several causes, so we investigate the affected circuits and equipment before recommending repairs. Tell us when it happens and what is running at the time. A replacement consumer unit is only proposed where the assessment supports it.
